Food @ ION Orchard

Went to ION Orchard Food Hall for lunch today.  Food Hall is at B4 while MRT exit is at B2.  Loved the food hall concept with wide variety for you to pick and choose. Almost very stall is backed up with media recommendations and the prices are generally steep as well.

GoGoCurry
Our first stop was Go Go Curry. Was attracted to it as it reminded me of Daikokuya(大黒屋)@Asakusa, deep fried tempura with dark sauce. According to the brochure, it is one of the best katsu curry in Japan, they even have photos showing the long queue in Shinjuku.   We ordered the Grand Slam (S$18.50) so that we can try everything - chicken katsu, port katsu, prawns and sausage. However, we were quite disappointed, maybe because of the high expectations. The curry sauce is a bit salty, pork katsu is quite dry.  (Rating 3/5)

Takoyaki from Tsukiji Gindaco
Joined the queue for Takoyaki (fried octopus dough balls) from Tsukiji Gindaco, selling at S$4.80 for 6.  They only sell the authentic Takoyaki and does not offer the usual bacon & cheese or prawn balls that we're familiar with.  The Takoyaki here are crispy on the outside and the black sauce is nice.  Although its not as good as those we had in Osaka, believe it should be one of the best in Singapore. (Rating 4.2/5)

Arinco King Cake Roll
Normal price was a bit steep, each roll selling at >S$15. Saw that its going for 50% off for Chinese New Year and they started to offer per slice as well.  After discount, it only cost S$1.75 for a slice of matcha. Wasn't really impressed with the matcha, should have tried the salted caramel roll instead. (Rating 3.5/5)
